logo_smCheck out YouTube (not sure if I like this name or not).

Pretty hip site. They have all the features you’d expect from a social media site (related videos, tags, sharing, top favorites, etc).

One thing that really annnoyed me is that (at least from my perspective) I can’t download the videos. I can only stream them.

They use Flash as their video player. I’m not sure what codec is being used but its actually pretty decent. On my Mac the site just worked.

They only seem to have an RSS feed for their recently added videos. It would be nice to have one for their top videos.

Also.. check out this video of a cat shaking hands.

Update: Both Silicon Beat and TechCrunch have picked up on YouTube. Of course if they read my blog they would have had this story last week!

    Kevin,
In the same family, I would also recommend Dailymotion:
    http://www.dailymotion.com/
(and the name is indeed much better)

    hey Pierre.

Good point. Daily Motion does indeed seem very cool. They don’t have the popular video feature of YouTube though. Regardless without an RSS feed I just can’t be bothered anymore. I already have too many feeds to keep up on.

Sounds like I’m being rude but I’d love to check out these sites on a regular basis.

On another note I just checked and Flickr doesn’t have an RSS feed for Interestingness. Ug. Such a waste..
